About the Recipe

If you want something simple, you'll love this one. It's the way I recommend trying Kings and introducing my friends to gourmet mushrooms. Kings are firm and hold their texture when cooked so it lends itself to cooks where 'getting lost' in the textures doesn't happen. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 Large Punnet of King Oysters (sometime called King Trumpets or King Browns)

  • 2 Tablespoons of butter (unsalted to be extra healthy! haha)

  • Garlic (crushed) or Garlic Seasoning if you have it.

  • Salt, Pepper & Chilli Flakes to taste

Preparation

Step 1

Slice King Oysters horizonally into 2.5cm (1 inch) thick pieces...Scallop sized.


Step 2

Heat pan or skillet to a medium heat. Add in butter and garlic. If using Garlic seasoning, add in during Step 4.


Step 3

Once butter is melted, throw in King Oyster slices.


Step 4

Sprinkle with salt, pepper, chilli flakes to taste.


Step 5

Cook until crisp. Taste test along the way, if you empty the pan, the cook is a success.
